What is an Anode Rod?

     The Anode Rod is designed to attract the corrosive elements and sediments in the water.  These minerals attack the anode rod instead of the water tank.  You may ask, why does my water smell like rotten eggs? Why do I have sulfur smell in water?  Chances are it's time to change your Anode Rod.  Aluminum vs Magnesium Anode Rod, which one should you get?  If you have Well Water, get an Aluminum Anode Rod.  If you have City Water, get a Magnesium Anode Rod.

     The second thing to consider when installing a water heater is how your water heater vent is currently set up.  There are two ways to vent a water heater.  One way is via a Chimney Vent the other is by using a Power Vent.

      Chimney Vent - The method of venting a water heater through the chimney is very popular and has been used for decades.  Usually, there is a brick chimney and a galvanized water heater vent attached to it.  Sometimes b Vent is used.  b Vent pipe is a double-walled pipe that is installed inside the chimney when the chimney is in need of repair.
